Churches in Lubin include a Gothic castle chapel, a medieval filial church, a Greek Catholic church and the parish of St Maximilian Kolbe.

Which sacred sites in Lubin are the oldest?

The oldest trace of the town is the Castle Chapel, the only surviving fragment of Lubin's medieval castle. The Gothic building has a tympanum dated 1349 and today houses the Castle Gallery.

The second Gothic address is the church of St Maria Domenica Mazzarello on Przemysłowa Street. It is a filial church from the late 14th century and is entered in the register of monuments.

Where can you see the newer churches?

The church of St Maximilian Maria Kolbe is a parish church in the Lubin Wschód deanery of the Legnica diocese. The Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul on Parkowa Street is an active Greek Catholic church built in 2006-2008. All four sites carry the solo tag, so they suit a quiet walk on your own. When you enter active churches, keep quiet and remember that services may be under way.

What goes well with a church walk?

Sacred sites pair naturally with the museums of Lubin. If you choose by mood, see the places for solo travellers. The full overview is on the Lubin attractions page, and similar churches across the region are under churches and monasteries.
