Beautiful views in Grzmiąca start at the viewpoint on Gomólnik Mały and continue to Waligóra and Rogowiec with its rocky outcrops.
Where is the viewpoint in Grzmiąca?
On the north-eastern slope of Gomólnik Mały there is a viewpoint opened in 2023, with a terrace. The hill is 807 metres high according to Wikipedia, lies in the middle of the Suche Mountains range and belongs to the Wałbrzych Sudetes Landscape Park. It is the only spot the descriptions call a viewpoint outright, so it is the place to start. Gomólnik rises next to it, and the two hills share the same melaphyre structure.
Which summits can you count on for views?
The description of Waligóra, the highest peak of the Suche and Stone Mountains, has a separate section on the forest and views. The hill is 933.88 or 936 metres above sea level, falls gently to the south and is much steeper to the north and east. Rogowiec (870 m) has a conical shape, picturesque rocks and castle ruins at the top, and old landslides survive on the eastern and north-eastern slopes. Jeleniec (902 m) and Turzyna (895 m) lie near Waligóra and Rogowiec, and from the area of Turzyna trails also lead to Borowa with its lookout tower.
How do you plan the outing so the views pay off?
Views depend on the weather and on how high you climb. The descriptions do not say where exactly a panorama opens, apart from the spot on Gomólnik Mały, so leave spare time and do not build the whole trip around one summit. Gomólnik (826 m) and Warzecha (793 m) are covered with spruce forest, and the descriptions say nothing about their views. Waligóra has an elongated ridge running north to south, so the direction of your approach also changes what you see.
