Historic sites in Sobótka and nearby include the castle ruins on Ślęża, a former monastery turned palace and a Baroque palace in Tworzyjanów.

Which historic sites are in Sobótka and under Ślęża?

The castle on Ślęża is a ruin on the mountain summit. It was built from the 13th century and destroyed in 1471. Only small fragments of walls survive, and some remains lie under the church. Archaeological research in 1998-2006 uncovered part of the structure.

The palace in Sobótka-Górka stands at the foot of Ślęża, in the western part of town. It began as a church and monastery of canons regular from the mid-13th century and was rebuilt as a palace in the 19th century. At the turn of the 21st century a hotel operated here, and today the building is closed. Archaeological work began in 2002 and renovation has gone on since 2013.

What is the palace in Tworzyjanów?

The palace in Tworzyjanów lies in the Marcinowice municipality, in Świdnica county, not far from the Ślęża massif. It is a Baroque residence rebuilt around 1884 from an earlier, probably 16th-century complex. A 4-hectare park with a pond surrounds it. All three sites carry the solo tag, so you can visit them calmly on your own.

What goes well with a sightseeing day?

The summit castle combines easily with a walk in the mountains of Sobótka, and on the way you pass the stone sculptures. More topics are on the Sobótka attractions page and in historic sites in the region.
