Begin at the Neptune Fountain on the Town Hall Square, on the site of the old town well.The sea god dates from the 19th century and recalls the good trade relations of local merchants with overseas countries, even though the city lies inland.The fountain is accessible at any hour, with the tower and the Wojanów Gate close by.
The Castle Gate Tower is the only surviving part of the medieval city gate, in its present form from 1584.It has a cylindrical base and an octagonal top under a tall tent roof, with a weather vane showing a deer, the city's symbol.Small cross-shaped openings in the walls served the artillery. Today the tower is a viewing platform.
The Coral Path (Koralowa Ścieżka) is about 5.5 kilometres long and leads from Jagniątków to the Black Pass (Czarna Przełęcz) through the Karkonosze National Park.It runs at altitudes of 630 to 1,350 metres, along the Wrzosówka valley, past the Paciorki rock group. You pass lower and upper montane forest and dwarf pine, and the route ends at the Jagniątków Black Cirque, a glacial cirque.
Trails meet at the Rozdroże pod Jaworem crossroads on the Jawor Meadow, at 1,110 metres. The Path above the Spruce Zone (Ścieżka nad Reglami) passes here, and the green trail links the spot with the Snowy Cirques and the Karkonosze Pass. The black trail arrives from the Coral Path, so the two points are easy to combine.
