Shooting ranges in Wrocław: an indoor COLT range, LOK, the PZŁ hunters' range and archery in the forest. No gun permit needed at some.
Where can you shoot in Wrocław without your own weapon?
The easiest place to start is COLT Shooting Range in the Kowale district. It is an indoor facility with 12 lit shooting stations and targets set between 10 and 25 metres away. You do not need a gun permit, and beginners can sign up for a course with instructors. Competitions take place once a month, so it also works if you want to measure yourself against others.
Another option is Pistol And Rifle Academy. Training takes place at the Strefa Celu site in Łowęcice, a drive of a few dozen minutes from the centre. The academy supplies the equipment, so you do not need a weapon of your own. Separate pistol and carbine tracks run at basic, intermediate and advanced level.
Sports and hunting ranges: LOK and PZŁ
At Skwierzyńska 1-7, in the Powstańców Śląskich housing estate, you will find the LOK Wrocław City Sports Shooting Range. The land belongs to the city and the League for the Defence of the Country (LOK) runs the classes. The opening schedule is published on the organisation's website, so check it before you set off.
In Księże, at Wodzisławska 10b, stands the PZŁ Hunting Shooting Range. It is run by the regional board of the Polish Hunting Association, but people from outside the association can use it too. There are four clay-pigeon lanes (Rogacz, Dzik, Zając and Krąg) and a five-lane archery range, open since 2011. Hunters also fire test shots here to check a rifle before the season.
Archery in Osobowice Forest
If you prefer a bow to a firearm, head to Osobowice-Rędzin. In Osobowice Forest there is the public Archery and Air Gun Shooting Range, set up for pneumatic weapons and archery. Rules and opening hours have not been confirmed in official sources, so ask before you visit.
Close by is the Osobowice Forest Archery Trail: twelve field stations laid out to the ATA Archery Park Guide standard. Entry is free, needs no booking and is open all year, but you must bring your own bow and arrows. The Traditional Archery Centre association maintains the trail on a voluntary basis.
