Shooting ranges in Lower Silesia: indoor and outdoor, for beginners and clubs. See where to shoot under an instructor's eye.
What shooting ranges are in the region?
The list covers very different types. There are indoor ranges that work in any weather, open ranges with lanes at 25, 50 and 100 metres, hunting ranges with SKEET and TRAP tracks, club facilities, and combinations with a cafe or off-road lessons. All carry the Shooting Range tag and lie in Lower Silesia, from around Wrocław to Zgorzelec, Jelenia Góra and the Kłodzko Valley.
Before you go, check the entry rules with the operator. Some places accept people without a firearms permit, some require booking in advance, and some are open only to club members or training participants. Every description below rests on what the site says about itself.
Where to shoot in Wrocław?
Wrocław has several different sites. COLT range is indoors, with 12 lit positions and a target set at a distance of 10 to 25 metres, on Kwidzyńska Street in the Kowale district. The LOK range on Skwierzyńska is a municipal sports range run by the League for National Defence. If you prefer air guns and a bow, see the archery and air gun range in Osobowicki Forest.
Outside the city proper there is Strefa Celu in Łowęcice, an open site with 15 independent lanes, a dozen or so kilometres from Wrocław. In Zębice you will find Warrior Academy with an air-gun range, axe-throwing positions and a cafe under one roof, and it gives a safety briefing before shooting. All options in the city and nearby are gathered on the page about shooting ranges in Wrocław.
Which range suits beginners?
For people without experience an instructor matters. In Bielawa Fort Bielawa runs recreational shooting, courses for a firearms permit and IPSC competitions. In Świebodzice Walkiria organises courses for beginners without a permit and has branches in Świdnica, Strzegom and Wałbrzych. In Jelenia Góra the range on Sudecka Street offers individual lessons with licensed instructors, also for people without a permit, as well as 4x4 off-road expeditions.
Similar rules apply to the Siechnice range, available without a permit and with online booking, and to the Falkona range in Lutomia Górna, where you can hire a weapon on site but must arrange the visit in advance. Note that some sites carry the Family tag. It means a good offer for a shared outing, but each centre sets its own rules for younger participants, so ask directly.
How to choose between indoor and open ranges?
An indoor range is the choice for winter and rain. The Old Factory range in Miłków near Karpacz is housed in a former factory and works all year regardless of weather. Likewise WM Grot in Krosnowice is an indoor range with weapon hire, training and a shop. Open ranges are available too: the Braterstwo range in Kanclerzowice near Żmigród has three lanes at 25, 50 and 100 metres and 40 positions in total.
Check which weapon you want to try. The Historic Range in Srebrna Góra works in the bastions of the Srebrna Góra Fortress and offers shooting from modern weapons and from rifles dating to the Second World War. Shooting is combined here with a historic fortification, so it fits a trip around the fortress.
Which ranges have a special character?
Some sites stand out for their history or profile. Antrans range in Serby near Głogów was built on the grounds of a former military ammunition depot and opened in 2022. The Brotherhood Range in Jelcz-Laskowice stands in the Shooting Park on Matczyna Hill, where the Kurkowe Shooting Fraternity organises traditional tournaments. The PZŁ range in Dobrzejów near Legnica is a hunting and sports site with SKEET and TRAP tracks, and in Biernacice there is a hunting range with positions for testing weapons.
There are also training sites. The Sudetes range near Bystrzyca Kłodzka lies on the edge of a forest with a view of the Śnieżnik massif. BZ Academy in Radostów Średni has worked since 2014 and runs courses for people without a permit. The Reload range on the grounds of Krzywa Airfield combines shooting with SERE and survival classes. The Sudetes Shooting Range in the Kłodzko Valley is thus a good choice for people exploring the area.
How to prepare for a visit?
Always pick a site that clearly states an offer for your level. Call or write before arriving, because many places work by appointment and a few are open only for club activities, like the AGAT club range in Złotoryja. Ask about:
- an instructor and a safety briefing,
- weapon and ammunition hire on site,
- the minimum age of participants,
- whether a firearms permit is needed.
At club and hunting sites the offer is often narrower than at commercial centres, and some have no website of their own. In that case a phone call or the club profile is the only source of information. Remember that a shooting range has strict safety rules, so follow the instructions of the person in charge.
