Things to do with kids in Wrocław and Lower Silesia: zoo, play centres, rope parks and miniature parks. Pick a plan for today.

This list gathers places you can visit with children, from the zoo and model railways to trampolines, rope parks and indoor play centres. You will find venues in Wrocław and across the region. Below we suggest what to choose on a sunny day, what to pick for rain and how to plan a trip with children of different ages.

Where should you start when looking for things to do with kids?

Begin with three questions: how old are the children, what is the weather like and how far can you travel. For toddlers look for play centres with a zone for the youngest. For older children look for trampolines, rope courses and tubing. When it rains choose something indoors, and when the sun is out choose a park, a zoo or a mountain trail.

Read the description on each card, because the age limit is often stated outright. One rope park, for example, has a course for children from three years old, while its other courses start at six. For play centres check whether there is a separate zone for toddlers and a cafe for parents.

Where to go with children in Wrocław?

The safest choice is the Wrocław Zoo, opened in 1865 and the oldest zoo in present-day Poland. It covers 33 hectares on Wróblewskiego street, close to Szczytnicki Park and the Oder. Inside you will find the Afrykarium, the first oceanarium in Poland presenting African ecosystems, opened in 2014 in a building shaped like a ship.

The zoo also has the Zoolandia Mini Rope Park, with courses for children from three years old and for adults, next to the enclosures of wolves, pelicans and bison. If your child loves trains, head for Kolejkowo, a moving model railway in Sky Tower with models of trains, trams, boats and aircraft.

For a day full of movement choose GOjump MEGApark Długosza, an activity park with trampolines, an obstacle course and air cushions, and a cafe from which you can see the whole hall. An alternative is Jump Hall Trampoline Park, which also has a rope park and a climbing wall.

Younger children will enjoy play centres. Klub Fikołki, in the Wroclavia shopping centre, takes children from zero to eleven and has a separate zone for the youngest. Bobolandia is in Księże, and Milu Malu in Psie Pole combines a play area with a cafe for parents. Pixel XL in the city centre is built around an interactive mat that tests reflexes and memory.

Where to go with children when it rains?

Choose a place under a roof. Play centres, trampoline halls, Kolejkowo and the Afrykarium carry the “Na deszcz” (for rain) tag on the portal, so you can filter them in one click. In bad weather also see the museums category, if your children like to look and listen.

Outside Wrocław you can plan a rainy day in Wałbrzych at the ExploraPark, an indoor active education centre where children learn by trying things out, with exhibits explaining physical phenomena, sound and renewable energy. In Karpacz, Świat Kolejek has layouts in the style of the Wild West and the Frozen Land, with trains that visitors control themselves. In Polanica-Zdrój the FunPark offers inflatable structures themed on pirates and the jungle, plus a zip line.

When the children are cold or tired after a day outdoors, a pool is a good finish. We gathered such places under water parks and pools.

Where to go with an active child: trampolines, rope parks, tubing?

You will find trampolines outside Wrocław too. Wild Jump in Jelenia Góra has a sports zone with Olympic trampolines and an obstacle course. Jump Heaven in Legnica offers gymnastics tracks, a climbing wall, a foam pit and air cushions. Hoppark in Lubin takes children from three years old and has a parkour zone, a gladiator track and foam pits.

In the mountains go for rope parks. Trollandia in Szklarska Poręba has five courses with continuous belay. The Trollinkowo course is for children from three, while Dzielny Skrzat and Ole Trole are for ages six and up. The Kudowa Rope Park on Góra Parkowa has three courses of rising difficulty, and the green children’s course has no time limit and no limit on runs.

In Szklarska Poręba you can also slide down on inflatable tyres at Oponkowa kraina, since its three tubing tracks need no experience. The Esplanada Family Amusement Park has an Alpine Coaster sled track through the trees, minigolf and, in winter, an ice rink and tubing. Children from eight can ride the track on their own.

Where to see animals up close?

Besides the Wrocław zoo you have several interesting addresses. Lubin has a zoo with free entry all year round, set in the revitalised Wrocław Park. Themed educational paths lead through it, each devoted to a different group of animals.

In Sosnówka in the Karkonosze there is ZOObaczysko, a bird park where birds fly freely and visitors can feed them. There is also a maze and a sandpit for children. In Kuraszków, the Papugarnia Kubuś & Endriu parrot house shows over a hundred exotic birds, along with rabbits, mini ponies, goats and Cameroon sheep that you can touch and feed.

Near Twardocice, Ranczo Grapa is an agritourism centre with a mini zoo, home to llamas, fallow deer, peacocks, goats and donkeys, and it has a rope park too. In Ołbin in Wrocław, Zoo Team combines a pet shop with an exhibition of exotic animals and an educational offer.

Where to go with children in the Karkonosze?

In Szklarska Poręba plan a whole day: Trollandia, Oponkowa kraina and Esplanada are all in the same town. Pair it with the Fairy Tale Park in Karpacz, an open-air themed area in Wilcza Poręba. Children walk between cottages, each showing a different tale, from Cinderella to Rapunzel, and there is a playground and a summer pontoon track.

For a rainy day go down to Kowary, where the Park of Miniatures of Lower Silesian Monuments stands in a former carpet factory. The models show churches, castles and other buildings of the region at a scale of 1:25, and you visit with a guide. Part of the exhibition is under a roof.

What is there for children in the Kłodzko Land and the Sudetes?

In Kudowa-Zdrój try Capitalna Zabawa, a play centre with a seven-metre structure with three levels for climbing. In Kłodzko you will find Minieuroland, a private miniature park opened in 2015, with replicas of buildings from Lower Silesia, Europe and North America, a botanical garden and animal zones.

Older children will appreciate the Gold Mine in Złoty Stok, where tourist routes lead through former workings, with an underground waterfall, a boat crossing and a narrow-gauge railway. Add a walk through nearby parks, which we describe under parks and nature.

How to plan a day with children of different ages?

Combine two activities: one active and one calm. In Wrocław you can begin with the zoo and the Afrykarium, then move indoors after lunch, to Kolejkowo or a play centre. When the children differ in age, choose venues with several zones, such as halls where toddlers and older children play separately.

In smaller towns play centres often have a cafe for parents. Akuku in Lubin has five slides and a separate zone for children from zero to four, while Bajkolandia in Nowa Ruda has three birthday rooms and a snack bar. For birthdays and groups many centres offer packages, so ask at the venue.

How to use the children’s attractions list on the portal?

Narrow the list to the town where you will be, then look at the tags. “Dla rodzin” (for families) groups places friendly to whole families, “Na deszcz” indoor venues and “Zoo” animals. You will find Wrocław attractions together on the page of attractions in Wrocław.

Check opening hours, ticket prices and entry rules on the card and on the venue’s own site, because they change more often than the descriptions.
